Hi!

Today’s the day to head to High Street in Slough if you would like to enjoy the entertainment, see the fireworks and the Christmas lights turned on marking the start of Christmas 2011! Personally I love Christmas and the longer the mood and spirit can go on for the better as far as I’m concerned!

!daft! will be performing 2 x 20-30 min sets between 5.15pm and 6.30pm. 

There is also other great entertainment from local acts, prizes and YOU could be the person that actually turns the lights on.

Slough Christmas Lights 2011

!daft! are proud to be hitting up Slough town square for the second time this November 17th when we take part in the annual Christmas Lights Turn On and Fireworks Extravaganza. We will be playing a couple of 20 minute sets in the town square to all the wonderful revellers gathered for this event which truly marks the start of the Christmas 2011 season. Afterwards we will join the hardest working Jam Night crew in history at the Rising Sun (just down the road) from 9pm for some more awesome live music. You could do a lot worse than to join us at both of these wonderful events.

We will take to the stage by 4.30pm.

A whole host of acts will wow the crowds before the lights are turned on and fireworks set off. There will be:

• The very talented students from the Creative Academy
• John Dewhurst and Mercia Winners of ‘Windsor’s Got Talent’ and;
• And us!

There will also be some added festive cheer when residents will be in with the chance to win some major prizes which include:

• Blackberry Torch
• HTC ChaCha
• HTC 7 Mozart

• Family bowling voucher at Absolutely Ten Pin and much more…

There will also be free mulled wine and minced pies handed out, thanks to Sainsbury’s, while stocks last.

The late afternoon extravaganza, sponsored by the Slough Express, will start from approximately 3.40pm with an introduction, along with the Mayor of Slough helping the fun begin.

The Rising Sun Jam Night

Each Thursday from 9pm the Rising Sun, Slough hosts one of the finest Jam Nights in the Berkshire area. A full electric jam with a host of talented players, singers and drinkers!
